Shantam Pyakurel

Shantam Pyakurel is one of the founding member of Equity Law& Co. who is a licensed lawyer and legal expert with both academic background and real-world experience in the USA and Nepal. He graduated with an LL.M. in intellectual property from the University of New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce School of Law, USA where he was involved in both the International Comparative Law Association and the Business & Tax Law Society. His graduate studies enhanced his knowledge of international legal frameworks, business law, and intellectual property. He is a member of the Nepal Council of Arbitration and a licensed advocate from Nepal Bar Council. Mr. Pyakurel graduated from Kathmandu School of Law with a B.A. LL.B. degree in business law. He participated in international programs during his undergraduate studies such as the CLE Mock Trial Competition in Chiang Mai, Thailand; the International Residential Student Exchange Program in New Delhi, India; and the Millennium Fellowship (Class of 2020) under the Millennium Campus Network in collaboration with the United Nations Academic Impact. Apart from his legal profession, Mr. Pyakurel has shown a significant dedication to community involvement and social responsibility. In his capacity as Volunteer Coordinator for Team NEPO Kathmandu, he oversaw the creation of a prison library at Kavre District Prison, led climate change awareness initiatives in elementary schools, and conducted speaking and art competitions at the national level.
